Our goal? To help you create a seamless, beautiful environment.

Why is Studio Unique… So Unique?

Innovation is a key word for us. Besides traditional work, Studio Unique always explores new territories.

Currently we are presenting, “Modern Eclectics” – a new collection incorporating oversized frescos and stenciling, modern trompe l’oeil, murals combining elements of fine art and decoupage, large photos treated with faux materials, and reproductions of classical fine art on a large scale.

Studio Unique invites you to take note of our custom finishes imitating concrete with subtle metallic shine, Italian plasters in unusual colors, patinas and realistic imitations of weathered plasters.

Our projects reflect the modern style of living and often become conversational pieces. The “Modern Eclectics” collection has a special appeal for innovative interior designers and clients with a lot of personality. We take pride in our work and approach each project as an artistic quest.

Initial consultation: During initial consultation we will review details of the project, present our portfolio with actual samples from past projects. We also will suggest finishes and colors to coordinate with the overall design scheme and your fabrics.

Estimate and contract: Soon after consultation we will provide you with detailed estimate and contract. 50% deposit is due when contract is approved in order to start working on samples.

Sample boards: We present clients with large (28”X22”) sample boards to help visualize the final look. Two samples per area are at no charge. Samples will be fine-tuned at the beginning of the project to adjust to existing lighting conditions.

Preparation work: Most of our decorative finishes are created on a surface prepared, primed and base-coated by others. Quality prep work is very important because as faux finishing guru Pierre Finkelstein puts it, “Decorative finish is only as strong as its weakest coat.” We can either oversee your straight painter or recommend one. Changes and add-ons: For any job changes resulting in an additional fee, we will bring the matter to your attention and prepare a “Change order form” for your approval.

Insurance: Studio Unique holds a $1,000,000.00 general liability insurance at all times.

Management: Projects are conducted by an experienced field supervisor and overseen by the owner or manager. All phone calls are returned the same day; before, during and after the project.

Work area protection: Our crew is trained in protecting each type of work area. For example, to protect carpeted room we will use “Carpetshield” – non-slippery plastic impenetrable for paint and 6” masking tape for moldings.

Materials: Whenever possible we use high quality “Faux Effect” materials as they are more durable than traditional house paint, washable and produce great decorative effects.

Health and safety: Most of the time we use water-based, environmentally friendly materials for the safety of your family and pets. Our craftsmen are instructed about health and safety issues of working with ladders, scaffolding, and hazardous materials and around electrical outlets.

Neat clean jobs: At the end of each shift, the work area is cleaned and secured till the next day. Paint containers are closed and covered with drop-cloths. Meticulous clean up is done at the completion of the project.

Maintenance: We leave clients with the remaining materials used for the project, so repairs and touch-ups can be easily done.

Artistic expertise: Owners of the company have a solid cultural background and wide expertise in different fields of artwork. Decorative painting knowledge comes from prestigious “Elisabeth O’Neil Studio”, “The Finishing School” and practical training in Europe. Artists working with us have at least five years field experience.

Costs: We position our selves as a company doing high-end artwork at reasonable prices. Typical applications over prepared surface are priced by sq. ft.:
Glazes - $2.50 - $5.00
Textures - $8.00 - $12.00
Italian plasters - $10.00 - $15.00
